Privacy Notice

Effective date: 4 October 2026. This notice explains how personal data is handled when you use Romaniv. The data controller for the publication is Fatima Lafkiri, Via Pietro Carnesecchi, 38n, 50131 Firenze FI, Italy. Contact contact@romaniv.online or support@romaniv.online for privacy questions and rights requests.

Information you provide

When you contact us by email or a displayed contact form, we receive your reply address, the name you provide, your message and any attachments. We use these details to respond and manage your request, on the basis of our legitimate interest in communicating with readers. If a request is directly connected to a prospective agreement, the applicable basis may instead be steps taken at your request before that agreement.

When you comment, we process the comment, display name and email address entered in the form. A published comment and its display name are public; your email address is not intended for public display. WordPress may also record an IP address and browser information to support security and spam prevention. Our basis is our legitimate interest in operating a moderated discussion and protecting the site. Please do not put sensitive personal data or someone else’s private information in a comment.

Technical operation and security

Our hosting and infrastructure services, including Namecheap and Cloudflare, can process technical request information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested URLs and security events to deliver and protect the site. We rely on our legitimate interest in providing a secure, functioning publication. Necessary technical storage is distinct from optional advertising or analytics storage. Providers’ relevant roles and practices are described in their Namecheap privacy policy and Cloudflare privacy policy.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand site usage, such as which pages are visited and how visitors navigate the publication. Depending on the configuration and consent choices, processing may include device and browser information, interactions and online identifiers. Optional analytics cookies require consent where applicable. Google describes its processing in information for visitors to partner sites and its privacy policy.

Advertising: HB Agency and Google

Romaniv carries advertising supplied through HB Agency, operated by ICardoo Digital Marketing S.r.l. Google AdSense may also serve advertising when enabled. Advertising services can process online identifiers, device and browser information, ad impressions, interactions and consent choices for ad delivery, measurement and, where consent permits, personalisation. The current vendor list and purposes in the advertising consent message identify the partners requesting consent or relying on another disclosed legal basis. See HB Agency’s privacy information and Google’s advertising information.

Consent is the basis for optional cookies and consent-dependent advertising or analytics processing. Where an advertising partner states a legitimate-interest purpose, its notice and the consent interface explain that purpose and the available objection. A non-personalised advertisement does not necessarily mean that no cookies or personal data are used. We do not sell products or operate affiliate sales links.

Consent choices

You may refuse optional purposes and withdraw consent for future processing through the consent controls available on the site. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful. Browser settings can remove or block stored cookies, but do not necessarily update a consent record held by an advertising partner. If you cannot find or use a consent control, contact support@romaniv.online. Our cookie notice explains the different categories and services. Submitting a comment or contacting us is not consent to personalised advertising.

Who receives data

Access is limited to people who need the information for editorial correspondence, moderation, support or site administration, and the providers supporting hosting, security, email, forms, analytics and advertising. Some providers act on our instructions; advertising and analytics providers may also have their own responsibilities for particular processing. We may disclose information where a legal obligation requires it or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim. We do not promise that only Romaniv ever holds a copy of a message sent through an email or infrastructure provider.

Retention

Our retention period for ordinary contact messages and comments, including associated records under our control, is no longer than six months from receipt or submission. This includes removing public comments within that period. Specific information may need to be retained longer if a legal obligation, unresolved rights request or legal claim requires it; access is then limited and the information is kept only as long as needed for that purpose.

This six-month period is not a claim about every cookie, aggregated statistic, security log or record independently retained by Google, HB Agency or another provider. Those periods depend on the service, configuration and stated purpose. Analytics retention controls concern particular event and user data and do not necessarily delete aggregated reporting. Consent evidence and permissions to publish contributed material are separate records, retained as needed to demonstrate the relevant choice or right. Backup copies may remain until the backup cycle replaces them; they should not be reintroduced into normal use after a deletion request has been implemented.

International processing

Some service providers process information outside Italy and the European Economic Area. Where a transfer is subject to GDPR restrictions, an applicable adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, are required. The providers’ linked notices explain their transfer arrangements. You may contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data; this notice does not claim that all processing takes place in Italy.

Your rights

Subject to the conditions in applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent at any time for processing that relies on it. Send requests to either contact address above. We normally respond within one month; a legally permitted extension for a complex request will be explained. We may need proportionate verification to avoid disclosing data to the wrong person.

You may complain to the Italian data protection authority, Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or another competent supervisory authority, including in the EU country where you live or work. You do not have to contact us first to exercise that right.

Choices and changes

You are not required to comment or send a message to read the publication. A reply address is needed if you want a response. Romaniv does not make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about readers solely through automated processing. Advertising partners may personalise ads according to the choices and purposes described above. If our services or practices change, we update this notice and its effective date. See publisher information for the responsible publisher.
